Last Thursday we headed northward from Seattle to visit my sister, Sandy and her husband, John, in Scotch Creek, BC, Canada.
We crossed through Canadian Customs at Sumas, WA and proceeded east on Canada 1 …….
…..and traveled through the beautiful Frazer River Canyon to Kamloops along with the trains.
Then east through Chase, BC to Scotch Creek, BC on the shores of beautiful Sushwap Lake.
We spent 5 days with Sandy, John and Cydnie, who doesn’t realize she is a dog!
John and Bill got caught doing chores
.
One day we went for a drive around the lake and stopped to check out the salmon making their way upstream to lay their eggs.
Sandy and Bill walking along the river.
We drove around to Mara Lake to look at all the houseboats at the marina. About 15 years ago, the four of us rented a houseboat for a week and had a great time cruisin’ the lake.
Have to add a couple of nature shots as always:
Oregon Grape
Bachelor Buttons
On Tuesday we headed back to Seattle, but this time we took Canada 5 over the Choquihalla and through the Nicola Valley, fantastic drive……….
……then back through US Customs and home. It was nice to get home, but because we live so far apart I cherish every moment I can spend with Sandy. Love you, Sis!!!!
