So much has happened since my last posting, so I guess I had better fill in the blanks and catch you up on our wanderings and adventures!!
From Kentucky we continued our trek northward………..next stop was North Branch, MI to visit with daughter, Karrie, and her husband, Jeff, in Clifford, MI. First night there we had a thunder and lighting storm with lots of rain, which took out the power in the RV park overnight and most of the next day! But the weather warmed up to the 90’s and then as the clouds rolled in the temperature dropped to the 70’s within a 2 hour period!!! The next morning the temp was 53 degrees and never really warmed up!!!
After another day of visiting with Karrie and Jeff and a great dinner at Lucky’s Steakhouse in Imlay City, we said our farewells as we were departing early in the morning.
On the road again on Sunday AM across the Mackinac Bridge to Munising, MI in the Upper Peninsula and the Wandering Wheels RV Park for the night.
On Monday AM we packed up the coach and hitched the car and headed into Munising and the Pictured Rocks boat dock parking lot. After a quick breakfast, we boarded the boat for a 2 hour 40 minute ride out to the Pictured Rocks along the shore of Lake Superior! Great……!
The sights were gorgeous and the fresh air on the water was refreshing.
Back in the coach again and heading westward through Michigan and Wisconsin with an overnight stop in a rest area in Floodwood, Minnesota. Tuesday found us in Grand Forks, ND at the air force base for a little R&R. After leaving Michigan, I (Kay) started coughing with a stuffy head…….generally feeling “crappy”, and spent our 2 nights in Grand Forks in bed!!! Maybe all that fresh air was just too much for my tired body!!!
On Thursday the 16th of June it was time to get to Minot for the big family gathering there, cold or no cold!!! By this time I had lost my voice and was coughing like a barking dog! More about Minot in the next episode……..!
Just Us Kids………traveling along the northern roads!
