Greetings and Hallucinations….

I am back from surgery and all the hallucinations are gone…….they had some really good “stuff” in the hospital!!

My total knee replacement surgery was on Tuesday, January 31st and I came home again yesterday (Friday), just in time to go to our park’s Social Hour and show all our friends that I am still alive and definitely kicking!!! Then it was back to the motor home and onto this wonderful thing called a CPM to do some therapy. Don’t know what the C stands for but the other 2 letters are for ‘passive motion’. IMG_5609Which means I lie on the bed with my leg strapped into it and it does all the exercising while I read a book!!!! It sure wasn’t like this with my right knee!

Home Health Care will be here today to help Bill with my care and to start the more strenuous (and more painful) therapy for a few weeks, then it will be off to see Mannie Sanchez, my physical therapist to make sure I get all range of motion back into my knee.

So far my pain has been non-existent, except for the tightness of the muscles and tendons following surgery, therefore have not needed any pain pills….yay!!! I was started on Coumadin (a blood thinner) at surgery to prevent blood clots and that always makes for some very, very colorful bruising. nothing painful, just pretty colors!!!

I am walking quite well already (this is the fifth day) but always keep the walker within reach to prevent any falls.

I am very pleased with the results following surgery and soon I will be back better than before……after all, I will have TWO bionic knees!!!!!

Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes……….Just Me

Yaay - so glad you are recovering so nicely!!!

We'll be home Wed - hopefully in time for the potato bake - that's the plan anyway!

Continue that laying in bed stuff - that has to be good for ya!

Thinking about you this week. How are you? Is the exercising getting easier? I hope so.
