A Bug’s Christmas

Last week we were visited by the K-5th grade classes from the D’Hanis Elementary School, just down the road from our RV park. They performed “A Bug’s Christmas” for us and then we treated them to punch and cookies.

They are a great bunch of kids and we all had a great time.

We actually (with a lot of help from the director and the teachers) got them all to pose for pictures after the show. One of which I enlarged and presented to the Principal of the school as a token of our appreciation. This is just one of the many shots I took before getting just the perfect one.

And of course, all the teachers and school nurse! IMG_9610

It really helped to ring in the Christmas Spirit!

Yesterday was the day Santa’s Elves from our RV park, delivered gifts and goodies to all the same kids at D’Hanis Elementary School in D’Hanis, TX. Each couple was assigned a different classroom and it turned out to be a fabulous experience, watching the excitement in the young faces.

Makes you remember what Christmas is all about!!!

All of the “Elves” before setting out on our mission! (Except me, of course, as I am always the photographer.)

But here I am in this picture with husband, Bill and Elves, Larry and Claudia. (Thanks, Bev)

The gal in Green is the “Head Elf”, Shari, who puts in many long hours to get all the gifts and goodies organized so we can have all the fun delivering them.

This year we had the 3rd grade class. Here Myrna and Jim are making sure each child has a bag of homemade cookies and a bag of candies.

Bill was the elf giving out the gifts. The young man receiving his gift is Dylan who has been our Pen Pal since last April.

This has been a tradition here for at least 15 years, this is our first year to deliver………….but I know it will not be the last.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

Just Us Kids……….keeping our Elf hats handy, just in case!!
