Toppenish, WA

On Friday we left Clarkston, WA to drive to the Seattle area to visit family and friend over the long Labor Day weekend. Along Highway 82 heading toward Yakima, WA we passed a sign on the outskirts of Toppenish, “Museum of Murals”…………….needless to say that peaked our interest, so off we went find the murals!!!

We found the quaint old downtown of Toppenish and on all the buildings were murals depicting the history of the area.

Ranching and farming, especially hops, was and is the main industry here and is a major theme of the murals along with the history of the Native Americans who were here before anyone else.

When was the last time you saw a real old-fashioned soda fountain? There is one in old downtown Toppenish.
