Last Day of August

               IMG_9873

I can’t believe it’s the last day of August already. There were  some days this summer when it was really hot here in Clarkston we wished summer would end and cooler weather would prevail. But now that summer is waning, I’m not sure I want it to end.

The weather that is………………….!!!

We have one more month here in Clarkston with with USACOE and then we will be heading out again……….hurray!!! We are both getting “itchy feet” and are ready to hit the road again.

The Canada geese are teaching the young ones the art of the “flying V-formation” which is finally looking more graceful. A couple of weeks ago it made for great entertainment watching the “crash” landings on the water.

                     Dragonflies are abundant now.

Teasles are just a weed but I love them, however the farmers around here don’t care much for them.

The weather is still quite warm during the day but the nights are cooling down now, so sleeping without A/C and with all the windows open is a real treat.

So like the Canada geese we will be heading south on the 28th of September with a side trip to Grants Pass, OR to get some maintenance work done on the coach. Then to Albuquerque and the Balloon Fiesta with a bunch of other Escapees. Finally we will be in Hondo, TX on or about the middle of October.

It will be good to be on the move again……………….

Just us kids getting ready to go…….   Kids_Sticks
