Our volunteer adventure with the Army Corps of Engineers at Swallows Park in Clarkston, WA ended today and we will leave here tomorrow morning. We enjoyed our stay here and made new friends to add to the old friends we already had here.
We were able to see all our kids, grandkids and great-grandkids several times during the 5 months, as well as participate in the wedding of a special friend. We renewed friendships made when we lived in the Lewiston-Clarkston area before we started full-timing in our motor home.
But we are anxious to get moving again, there are still places out there we haven’t seen and adventures to be experienced, so stay tuned and we’ll share our adventures with you.
After a quick trip to Grant’s Pass, OR for some front-end work on the coach, we are heading to Albuquerque, NM and the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta the 2nd week in October. We are really excited at the prospect of hundreds of hot air balloons filling the skies.
Then it’s southward to Hondo, TX and the Lone Star Corral (an Escapee RV park) for a month and a half with friends there and on December 1st we will start a new volunteer “job” at Aransas NWR on the Gulf Coast of Texas, north of Corpus Christi. We’re sure this will be a great place to spend the winter.
