Today was opening day of the Nez Perce County Fair in Lewiston, ID, which is across the Snake River from Clarkston, WA where we have been volunteering with the US Army Corps of Engineers all summer.
Along with Rangers, Ron and Doug, we manned the USACE booth.
The first day was a mad house as it was “Kid’s Day” and we gave out packets to at least 500 kids and teachers filled with coloring books, activity books, and stickers to raise water safety awareness .

We entertained the kids with “Seymor, the Water Safety Dragon”!
Seymor is a remote controlled dragon who “talks” and rides around on his own personal watercraft!! A lot of the kids recognized him from the visits he makes to local schools.
(Note the voice and handler of Seymor, Ron, sitting on bench and Doug is handing out Safety Patrol stickers.)
We are very tired but had a lot of fun with the kids. And we will do it all over again tomorrow!!!!

Wow, that looks fun! Grace was just complaining because we didn't get to go to the fair.
