Old Friends are the best!

Today we had a visit from an old friend, Donna St.John. She is in the area for a niece’s wedding and took time to come see us here in Clarkston, WA.

 

We first met Donna when I was working at Lewis Clark State College in Lewiston, ID and she was working security there. We became instant friends and commiserated about the state of the world as well as all the other day-to-day things in life. She took a vacation to Alaska in 2004 (I think!), came back to Lewiston, sold her house and all the furniture, packed whatever would fit in her little Datsun, and headed north to Alaska!

She regaled us with stories of her life in Alaska and we told her of our travels around the lower 48!!! We have always kept in touch by email, but it was so good to see her, face to face, and swap stories of our adventures.

Next summer (2010) we are planning to go to Alaska and will see her again while there.

 

            Kay…..making new friends, but holding tight to the old!
