Here goes nothin’!!!!

I apologize to all my friends who follow this blog……I have been remiss in not posting what is happening in our lives. But to tell you the truth…..nothing has been happening!!!!!!

As you all know we spent the summer here in Hondo and it has been very warm so outdoor activity has been kept at a minimum which of course means there are no adventures to write about!!!!!

Now before y’all start feeling sorry for us, our summer has not been without human contact!!! Those of us who stayed the summer here got together several times a week for the usual exchange of information and gossip, and of course there is always the Thursday morning biscuit and gravy breakfasts at Bill and Rosa’s as well as numerous lunches and dinners out in restaurants with A/C.

We also did a lot of work on our little Texas house, such as completing the flooring on both Bill’s and my side, more landscaping and tending the potted plants.

Boy, the more I write, the more boring this all sounds!!!! Yawn!!!!!

We did make a major purchase last week………..finally!!!! Our 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara (Suzie) has faithfully followed our motorhome across the United States and Canada (actually several times) and has taken us to many out-of-the-way places since 2004, but now she is tired. So the search for a new car began!!! It had to be towable, capable of hauling any purchases we make and must be economical to drive…….but most of all must be an automatic, no more clutch, thank you!!!!!

So…ta da…meet Bernie (Bill named this car), a 2010 Ford Escape XLT, gold in color just like the payments!!!!

It is a dream to drive and, yay, it’s an automatic!

Other Winter Texans are coming back into the park now and soon activities will be in full swing. The weather is still quite warm but nights are just right for sleeping without A/C…..finally!

All in all it has been a quiet, uneventful summer but it has been good as we have been traveling almost non-stop since 2004. So in retrospect, it has been “a good thing”!

I have set my alarm for this time next week so stayed tuned…………..!!!!
