It’s Done…….Almost!

If you have been following our blog for a while, you will already know that we have been busy building our “winter home” here at the Lone Star Corral which is a RV park for “winter seniors”!118 as we bought it

As you can see this is what we started with: a bare lot covered in foot-deep gravel with a chip ‘n seal pad for our motorhome.

In the fall of 2010 we had a “shed” built and delivered to our lot, however it was not finished on the inside! After much discussion we decided we were not as young as we thought, so we hired Denny from D & D Mobile Service to complete the inside. He divided it into 2 separate rooms, 1/3 for Bill and 2/3 for me……….sounds fair to me!!!!

This last fall, 2012, we brought the last of our belongings with us from the Pacific NW and moved into our new little home. Note: we do not actually live in our shed as we must still live in our motorhome, after all this is an RV park!!!!

Now it’s time for the “sittin’ porch” I have always wanted…….so we called Denny back to do the job.

Second day, with Mr, Bill supervising. then he started to help by handing the materials to those who know what to do with them!!!!!

Actually Denny said it would cost twice as much if he “helped”, but it was OK to hand them materials!!!!

Just need metal roofing to match existing and a gutter along the front! That will be here on Friday.

Now, decisions as to paint, but that has to wait for 120 days for the wood to dry. But in the meantime, perhaps a hanging basket or two, chairs and a table, maybe, and many hours of sitting with our friends on the porch enjoying a cool one together.

Next project is stepping stone walk to the porch from the coach and some more landscaping now that the building is complete.

Just Us Kids………….enjoying our porch!!!  Child Drawing 2  Child Drawing 5

Hurray, Kay! And it looks fabulous. I hope it isn't too many more years before I can be one of those who join you on the porch for a cool one. Way to go, you two! Lilli
