Progress has been slow lately in that we have so much happening here in the park and of course, we are involved in it all!! So this week we will build the wall between Bill’s shop and my craft/sitting room. Then we will run the wiring and put in all the electrical boxes to get it ready for our friend “Ed the Electrician” to make the hook-ups. Then we will have power….yay!!!
You will note the addition of steps on my side of the Ranchita…….Bill was afraid that Klutzy Kay would fall with only concrete blocks for steps, so with lumber that one of our neighbors was getting rid of, he build these fabulous, and safe, stairs! He even has enough lumber left over to build another set for his door.
As noted in earlier postings our ‘yard’ is all gravel about 6-8” deep, which is great to keep the weeds out, but it is pretty stark! So I have started my landscaping project by creating a ‘dry creek bed’ which meanders down to the street. Soon it will be joined by several agave plants and another cactus plant whose name I believe is ‘red aloe’…….will post pix later!
Here is a picture of my new ‘park vehicle’……no, I don’t play golf, never have and never plan to, but it sure is fun for zipping around the park! It is used as you can see, but a little TLC will spiff it up just fine!!! Haven’t decided just what I will do yet, but when it is done it will have a new name…..’Kay’s Karriage’. What do you think???
Our big money-maker here in the park was last week and it was a great success………….but a lot of work!!! Sure happy it is over for another year, but now we are working on Thanksgiving dinner, a big production for about 150 of our closest friends!!! After that is a craft fair in Castroville (just up the road) for which Jane, Bonnie, Jan and I have been busy making things to sell. Then it’s Christmas…..as you can see it is never dull here at Lone Star Corral.
Stay tuned for updates!

You'll have to take pictures of the wall going up inside. I like the dry riverbed idea. It will be fun to see the plants you put in the yard.

Hmmm, nice shed...what about a porch??? Gonna add one of those??? Like the dry riverbed idea, love the steps!
So glad the flea market was successful - I know we had a good time with it last year.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving - and give our love and good wishes to all!
