Getting ready………….

IMG_1500

We are nearing the end of our summer here in the Seattle area and getting ready to head southward to Texas for the winter. Today was spent taking down all the window and tire covers, stowing away all the ‘yard art’ and making sure everything is in it’s proper place in the motor home.

Then tonight it was dinner with Cindy and Brad, Bill’s brother, Ted and wife, Terri, niece Debbie and her husband, Mark, at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Mezcal in Covington, WA. The evening was filled with lots of memory-talk and, yes, a few margaritas. It was a great way to end our productive day.

Yesterday we spent the day at the Western Washington Fair in Puyallup, WA. Our visit there was two-fold: obviously to see all the sights associated with a large fair, but also to visit with our friends, Donna and Roger, from Wasilla, AK. Donna and Roger are vendors every year at this fair so it is our only chance to see them. We did a lot of walking so our old bodies were very tired, but it was a really fun day.

Tomorrow is more “stowing” and then dinner with Bill’s brother, Dave. As you can see the last couple of weeks have been filled with family as we will not see most of them until we return next spring. It is always hard to leave here, but the weather is starting to really cool down and we are looking forward to the warmer weather in Texas.imagesCAWFQN5S

Next week we will be on the road to our home in Hondo, TX. hopefully it will be an uneventful trip, but either way I will post details of the trip.

Just Us Kids…………..heading out again!!!
