More from Seattle……

The sun is shining and it is a glorious day here in the Seattle area!!! In past postings I have complained about all the dreary weather here but when then sun makes an appearance it not only warms the air but also the heart, the mind, and the spirit!!! Love that sunshine!!!!!

The days are rushing by way too fast and we have so many more things to do and people to see before we head back south for the winter. But we have managed to do a few fun things during the last month.

IMG_4424 (2)Bill and son-in-law, Brad, headed for the big Bike Rally in Sturgis, SD on the 6th of August. When there they pitched their tent next to the RV of our friends, Jane and Jerry, who are workamping at the Rush-No-More RV Park near Sturgis. They wandered around the Rally for a couple of days, toured the sights at Mount Rushmore, IMG00230-20110806-1512then headed back home again. The boys had a great time but both agreed they are too old to sleep on the ground and both were very happy to sleep in their beds again. But they had a great time riding and that’s what it’s all about.

While they were gone on their adventure, a couple of my friends, Kimmy and Jayne, came over from Clarkston, WA and we enjoyed a ‘just girl’s weekend’. We shopped at IKEA, had margaritas with dinner at Mezcal’s but mostly we talked and giggled a lot!!! It was a great weekend and can hardly wait for the next one!!!

Our days here are spent with the usual tasks that need to be done like laundry, cleaning, preparing for meals, and grocery shopping. However while here at daughter, Cindy’s, Bill has taken over all the yard maintenance chores, so he keeps very busy trying to keep up with the ever growing grass and weeds. Makes us remember why we do not have a stick home any longer which always involves yard work!!! Living in a motor home has it’s very distinct advantages and our winter home in Texas is gravel and cactus gardens…….low maintenance!!!!

We have more friends to visit and places to see before we head south again, but our feet are starting to ‘itch’ again and Bill is spending more time with his favorite book…..the Rand McNally Atlas!

Just Us Kids…………..enjoying the sunshine today! Sun Drawing
