Still in Seattle

 Sunflower Mackinac Fort

It has been a while since I have updated you on where we are and what we are doing now. So here goes……………..

We are still in the Seattle area visiting with our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We lived in Seattle until 2000 when we moved to Lewiston, ID, so we still have many friends here in the area and have been catching up with their lives. But most of our time has been spent with family.

One of our children has put in a full hook-up RV site on their property for us to use when we visit. So it is a really handy to just sit here and enjoy our family which is scattered all around the Seattle area.

We are having a good time here with one exception!!! When we arrived a nasty summer cold was making the rounds of the family and, yes, we caught it!!!! I was hit  hard with the cough and congestion but as soon as I was on the mend, Bill came down with it!!! So we limited our contact with the youngest members of the family until we were well again.

One of the reasons we left Seattle and moved to a sunnier climate was the “Seattle gluminess”. Contrary to popular opinion, it does not rain all the time in Seattle, however it is cloudy and overcast a good part of the year, including summer!! The dreariness begins to affect me in a big way so I usually do better in parts of the country that have a greater ratio of sun to rain. But this year we have been pleasantly surprised as the weather has been just fantastic, with sunshine and lots of warm days.

So you see what we have been doing since returning to the “lower 48”  from Alaska, but soon we will be back on the road again and then I will have more adventures to share with you.

Stay tuned…………….couple-in-rain
