Yesterday we headed up into the mountains to the Rocky Mountain National Park.
The road is curvy and winds through the canyons.
Then you round a curve and there are the Rockies in all their splendor!
The higher we went the more snow we ran encountered.
Yes, we had to stop and take our pix in the snow!!!
Because it is still early in the year, the road is closed beyond Rainbow Curves, so we could not drive all the way across. So we turned around and headed back down.
At Moraine Park we ran across a few elk………
Then we came across a huge herd of elk!!!!!
From there we headed back down through Estes Park and stopped to check out some of the neat shops.
We had a coffee and a hot chocolate to warm up.
Then walked around town, window shopping.
As we headed back to Loveland we just had to stop here and taste the cherry juice……….yummy!!! We bought a half gallon of juice, a bottle of cherry cider, and a jar of cranberry-orange marmalade.
Just before we got back into Loveland we spotted this fellow in a field.
It was cold with a few snow flurries in the park but most of the time the sun was shining and the day was beautiful.

So, is coffee and paper house where you shop for a newspaper while you drink your coffee, or drink coffee and shop for other papers? I think I'd like to try the cherry cider.
