We left Aransas National Wildlife Refuge on Sunday AM and are now back in Hondo, TX. We will probably stay here until we head for Alaska in early May. It is good to be back here with our friends, but just had to share a few more pictures of ANWR before moving on to new adventures.
There are so many birds and various animals on or near the refuge, but the weather was not cooperating so I did not get as many pictures as I would have liked. I did try to get a closer shot of the whooping cranes, but they are very shy and elusive and getting good shots without a humongous lens is almost impossible.
So instead I will post a few of the most common creatures in the area:
Turkey Vultures are everywhere just waiting for a meal!
A pair of White Pelicans
Seagull, just hangin’ out.
Roseate Spoonbills
Armadillo wandering through our yard.
Just a pretty picture…………….
We enjoyed our stay at Aransas NWR, but it was time to move on to more adventures down the road. We will miss the friends we made while there, but hopefully we will see them again sometime in the future.
