Yesterday was a great day at Lone Star Corral in Hondo, TX as the residents of the park all gathered for a wonderful dinner and shared friendship.
I shared serving duties (I’m in the middle) and Bill helped carve the many turkeys earlier in the morning.
Tables were set for 100 attendees and there were no empty chairs.
It was our last gathering with the folks here at Lone Star Corral as on Sunday we will be heading out to begin our volunteer work at Aransas National Wildlife Refuge.
While here we met Rusty and Alice who have just retired from Aransas after 15 years of volunteering at the refuge. They gave us many tips and pointers on what to expect there. Too bad we will not have the opportunity to work with them, they are great folks.
So our next posting will be from Aransas………………………
