Yesterday (Saturday) was “Christmas in God’s Country”, a craft and food fair in downtown Hondo, TX. The day started early for us as we had to have our display set up and ready for business by 9:30 AM, so that meant we had to start at about 6:30 AM to get our tent, tables and product out and looking good! At that time of the morning it was ‘cold’, in the low 50’s………..I know, I know, but this is South Texas and that’s cold for here! Especially since the day before, Friday, it poured rain all day! But Saturday dawned clear, but cool!!
We made it and at 9:30 we were all ready and the weather was warming up, so we were able to shed a layer of coats and wait for the hordes that we were sure were on their way to buy all our stuff!!! Ha!
To sum it up ……….we had a great time “people watching”, talked to a lot of “lookie-lu’s”, but profit was not to be the word of the day.
Jan, Ava, Bill, and Bonnie
We spent our time checking out all the food booths and tasting everything!!! We were really fond of the “Ladies of the Church” cookie sale!!! Ummm good!
It was a good time anyway, the day warmed up and was beautiful.
Now it is time to prepare for Thanksgiving here in the park.
