It has been exactly 1 week ago today that I had total right knee replacement surgery. I am finally able to coordinate my eyes, brain and the rest of my body to write with some semblance of clarity!!!
Surgery was on Wed AM and I came home on Sat AM walking with the aid of a walker. It has been a week of hospital, rest, exercise, and physical therapy, leaving little time nor inclination to write, but I am so thankful to be on the mend.
According to all reports I am ‘way ahead of schedule’ and walking just fine. I will not win any races, but I am walking, unaided, and improving daily!!!!
Old knee New knee
As you know we are here in Clarkston, WA volunteering for the summer and just by chance found the greatest orthopedic surgeon in Pacific NW, Dr. Bryon Beardsley. The people at TriState Hospital in Clarkston are the most attentive and kind folks I have met anywhere. Not only did they take great care of me, they encouraged me to always ‘do just a little more’ which helped get me on the fast track to recovery.
I am now doing physical therapy, 3 times a week, at the TriState Sport PT Center, and once again am working with a great group of people intent on making my new knee the best it can be.
Once again, thank you to all involved in the surgery and my recovery, including all my friends and family who helped with their prayers and good wishes

Oh Yippee, we've been missing you on here! Wow, look at that scar! Hummm, you'll have to think up a really good story to go along with it (just knee surgery is boring). Maybe you were in a scuffle with a bad secret agent. You grabbed the destructive weapon away from him and as you jumped over the oncoming car (that hit and killed the bad spy by the way) you hurt your knee... and the rest is history.
