We have started our new job here at Swallows Park on Hwy 129 between Clarkston and Asotin, WA. We are one of two RV couples here and share duties with Al and Judy. Our duties so far are very simple…………on weekends we monitor the boat launch parking and sell annual launch permits.
Boat Launch
Fishing Pier
During the week I will work at headquarters for 4 hours, three days a week!!! Bill will be doing various maintenance projects as necessary, and that includes serving as a “deck hand” on river patrols with the rangers. (Wow, tough duty!!) Our days off are Monday and Tuesdays.
The RV sites (2 of them) are on a inlet of the Snake River, and it is beautiful here.
There are biking and walking trails all along both sides of the Snake River, about 20 miles +-, but we are only working on the Washington side of the river. Though it is managed by the Corps of Engineers, the Lewiston side is maintained by the City of Lewiston, ID.
We have this “cute” little truck to patrol trails as well as other jobs. It almost has room for two people!!!!
We are just on the edge of Clarkston City Limits and have access to all shopping, Costco, Walmart, etc, as well as just about every restaurant you can want, except Olive Garden (darn!)
In addition to Judy and Al, we have other neighbors who are great to watch, but I sure wish they would pick-up after themselves!!!! (Not Judy and Al, the geese!!!)
The weather here has not been very nice, it is still cold and has been raining. Sure hope that changes soon!!!

Oh that would be really neat to go on river patrol. You'll have to tell us all about it!
