Clarkston, WA

We arrived here in Clarkston today and are staying at the Granite Lake RV Park at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater Rivers.

We have signed in for about a week, but will be leaving the coach here and driving over to Seattle for a short visit with our kids, grands and greats, before we start our volunteer job on the 1st of May.

We are not sure what our duties will be but we will be living on site at Swallows Marina, on the shores of the Snake River. It’s a tough job but somebody has to do it!!!!!!

The weather warmed up perfectly for our arrival, 85 degrees!!! Remarkable as it snowed here last week!!! The trees are all in bloom and daffodils and tulips are everywhere!!! I love Spring!!!!

Between Boise and Weiser, ID, Bill started sniffing and saying he smells onions…………..!! Didn’t take long to figure out that we were going through onion growing country.

On the way here, between New Meadow and Grangeville, we encountered and accident. The truck had some very serious injuries, but we don’t know about the driver!!!! (Sorry about the bugs on the windshield.)

Note the “parent” rolls of paper. They are produced here in Lewiston, ID and made into these big rolls and then transported elsewhere for remaking into toilet paper. (Now that is probably more information than you really wanted to know!!!) This truck was probably carrying about 4 of these rolls.

In spite of the onions and the accident, it was a good drive and a good day.

Do you know what the last thing to go through that bug's mind before he hit your windshield?

(drum roll please.....)His butt.

Jeff told that to Grace just last night. I don't think she quite got it. I'm still laughing.
