Yuma Proving Ground

We visited Yuma Proving Ground, home of the Golden Knights Parachute Team.

They do jumps daily, weather permitting, but that day the winds were too high so jump demonstrations were cancelled.

  

 

But they did a ground show explaining how they prepare for jumps and how they got into the Golden Knights.

 

After visiting with members of the team we toured the Military Museum and learned about the history of the base. It was used to train combat troops during WWII and for testing weapons and combat machinery.

We will be going back on a less windy day see the Golden Knights do their aerial show.
