Yuma and Friends

It’s raining and cold here in Yuma today (I know, you folks up north have absolutely no sympathy for us down here in the sun-belt!), but we come south in the winter to find sunshine. So when the occasional rainy day happens it is really depressing!!! So I am taking advantage of the day to do a little review of our stay here in the Yuma and Quartzsite areas.

We left Benson, AZ just after the first of January and headed for Indio, CA with our friends, Steve and Sandy Allgire to attend the FMCA Rally there.

We stopped overnight at the Paradise Casino along with many other rv’s of all shapes and varieties.

We had a great time at the rally checking out all the vendors and attending the evening entertainment programs, which were really good. (In a previous writing I posted pix of the parade and other happenings from the rally.)

After 5 days in Indio we headed out, Steve and Sandy went to Imperial Dam to meet up with friends and we went to Quartzsite to meet up with Bonnie and Ed Mason at South LaPosa BLM area.

We attended the Escapees Happy Hour and saw lots of folks we had met along the road at various times over the last 5 years.

After  2 weeks and  a fun time at the Big Tent Show and all the other “flea market” vendors we headed down to Yuma. We have been joined again by Steve and Sandy Allgire for a week or two.

We have also been able to spend some time with Kay’s sister, Sandy and her husband, John. They winter here in Yuma where they have a home in a very active community and golf, bowl or something everyday. They spend summers in Canada where they have another home at the Shuswap Lakes. We have had a good time catching up on all the news of our families……….more in a later posting.

Yesterday we did the Arizona Market Place with the Allgires………

We bought a new rug for the coach which Bill got to carry all through the market.

Today is a good day to stay indoors, read and catch up on correspondence as it doesn’t look the rain is going stop anytime soon. But tomorrow the sun will shine again……I hope!!!
