San Diego Harbor Tour

On the same day as the USS Midway aircraft carrier tour we took a tour of the San Diego Harbor by boat.

US Navy Seals were training all around us in the harbor. 

 

They were doing “drops” and “retrievals”

It was really fascinating to watch.

A really unusual picnic shelter, everyone has a different idea of what inspired the creator.

We had a great day in San Diego. Bill was stationed there during his years with the Navy, but agrees that it has really changed since the 70’s. He was able to recognize many of the old Navy installations, however most have either been closed or reconfigured.

The weather was good most of the day, it rained while we were inside the USS Midway, but during the harbor tour the sun was warm and the skies were blue and beautiful.
