Friday at Indio, CA

We are in the 3rd day of the 4-day rally here in Indio, CA. There are many, many vendors to visit and so many new coaches to drool over, and so many people to talk to and trade stories. We had new Koni shocks and a Saf-T-Steer installed on the coach while here, so hopefully we will have a smoother ride now. It turned out that 3 of the old shocks were not working at all, so it was time for new and better ones.

We have had a lot of fun as there is so much to do at any rally, but Bill and our friend, Steve Allgire, took time to visit the Palm Springs Air Museum to see all the planes of both the European and Pacific theatres.

The evening entertainment has so far been great, last night it was Jack Jackson with a Tribute to the Legends of Country Music. He and his band were really good and it was hard not to sing along with all the old country music.

The weather has been great, cool in the AM but shirt-sleeve warm during the day, just way southern California is supposed to be.

At coffee and donuts (free every AM) this morning, a lady looked at Bill's name tag and then his face and asked if he had been stationed at Lemoore NAS, and, yes, he retired from the Navy out of Lemoore. It turns out that she is the widow of an old Navy buddy, Gerald Linhart (sp?), who served with Bill at Lemoore, Hawaii and in the Phillipines. Sadly, he passed away at the young age of 50. Marilyn is now married to Harvey Bakker and they RV most of the year, but have kept a home in Lemoore.

All for now, time to shut the generator off and get back to the rally.....................!
