Saguaro SKP Park, Benson, AZ

After a really interesting drive over from Hondo, TX, we are settled again in Benson, AZ. In my last blog I showed you pix of the snow part of the trip.........the next day the sun was shining and the weather was fantastic........and no snow!!!!! We crossed New Mexico without incident and did not have to worry about blowing sand at all.

Deming, NM is in the middle of the desert, yet has a "duck" for a city logo??????

New Mexico "picnic area" on I10 with little adobe shelters.

Heed the signs!!!!

We were met at the office by our friends, John and Nancy, and welcomed as if we just returned from vacation. When in fact we have been away from here for almost a year and a half!!! This is a very socially busy park and there are things happening all the time, from social hours to classes to evening entertainment. I got tired just reading the schedule of activities for the week!!!!

But most important are the Benson Beaders who meet 3 times a week to exchange ideas, patterns and gossip!!!! I attended the Friday session while Bill ran errands in Sierra Vista and Fort Huachuca. There are many new faces in the group as well as a lot of the familiar ones.

We will be spending Christmas here as well as New Year's and plan to leave for Indio, CA and the FMCA Rally on the 5th of January. We will travel there with our friends, Steve and Sandy, who are coming in here after Christmas.

And just for my most favorite reader, Grace, a picture of local wildlife here in the park.
