Hondo, TX

We are in Hondo, TX, just west of San Antonio. We hope to be here for about a month doing our medical check-ups and visiting with our friends at Lone Star Corral SKP Park. We are not staying in the SKP Park this time; instead we are at the Quiet Texas RV Park in the town. It’s a new park; in fact we are the first to occupy this site. It is a comfortable park, quiet as the name indicates and the owner, Kevin Christenson, is doing a great job making the park into a good winter location for full-timers. If you are ever in the area check it out, “for a night, a week or a lifetime”

Sunday is “Ice Cream Social” at all SKP Parks and Lone Star is no exception. Of course we attend every Sunday when in Hondo. It’s a good time to see old friends, and the ice cream is good too!!!!

Getting the ice cream ready!

Waiting for the Ice Cream!

The crafts group at Lone Star had a project started making Christmas hangers for the troops in Afghanistan, so I pitched in and made about 14-15 to add to their Christmas box. Perhaps it will bring a little touch of home to the troops.

We have both been to our doctors, got flu shots (I got a pneumonia shot too, Bill got his last year),and had all the blood tests done. The rheumatologist has pronounced Bill as “good to go” and I am just waiting for the results of my tests, then we will move on, westward!!!
Future plans for this winter include: FMCA Rally in Indio, CA and Quartzsite, AZ in January. Hopefully we will make it to Benson, AZ for a visit there in December. But right now we are just taking it easy and enjoying our "vacation"!!!!
