Wheeler NWR

We have been remiss in posting new items for you all to read about our adventures. We have been working here at Wheeler NWR since August 1st. It started out a bit slow but activity is picking up as fall approaches and the weather starts to cool a little. It is still warm and humid, but cools at night.......all the way down to 70 degrees!!!

WNWR Visitor's Center

Bill has been very busy helping to get the visitor's center all "spiffy" for the Wheeler NWR 70th Anniversary Celebration here on the 20th of September. There will be archery demonstrations, birds of prey and wildlife shows, live music, food, and games for the kids. We will be very busy as they are expecting a huge turnout. Will get pix and write about it after the party is over.

Our RV spot here is really great, out in the woods near the headquarters building and right next to the Tennessee River. It just doesn't get much better than this.

View out front window of coach

Fantastic view of the Tennessee River

The only neighbors we have are raccoons, hummingbirds, bluebirds, and many other birds that we don't have names for, but they are great!

As this is written, Texas is preparing for a hurricane. Our thoughts and prayers are with all our friends and family in the path of the storm.
