Today is Veteran’s Day, the one day a year when we say “thanks” to a Veteran for their service. In our daily lives we forget that if these brave men and women had not given their time and service, sometimes even their lives, we would not have the freedoms we enjoy today.
However, I make it practice to thank Active Military personnel everyday!! Each time I see a person in uniform, I thank them. When I run into a veteran, I thank them. I hope you will make it your habit too, for without them we would not be free to make the choices, right or wrong, we make everyday of our lives. The Stars and Stripes and the flag of Texas flying high and proud over the Lone Star Corral SKP Park.
Every year the residents of Lone Star Corral SKP Park celebrate Veteran’s Day and this year was even larger!! We had a great ceremony this morning and we were join by Veterans from all around the area.
Including this wonderful gentleman in full uniform. The ceremony was followed by a great lunch and cake. All around the hall there were stories swapped and lots of reminiscing about the places they served.
The cake was cut by Larry Hill, a Purple Heart recipient and by Mae Bradshaw, whose husband was a Purple Heart recipient.
Thank you, Veterans, one and all, but especially thank you to my husband, Bill, who served 20 years in the Navy. Thanks, Honey!!!!
Another thank you goes out to my brother, Bob, who also served for 20 years in the Navy…….love you, Bro!!!

Wow, thanks for that nice tribute in pictures. I'm also very thankful for those who served, and continue to serve.
