Back in Hondo

IMG_8983

We are back where we started out in April, Hondo, TX. It has been 6 1/2 months filled with many new adventures, most of which we have already posted here on our blog.

Leaving Hondo in April we headed north to Alaska with a stop in Loveland, CO to visit our granddaughter and her family and then a stop in Livingston, MT to tour Yellowstone Park again!!

Then into Canada, with a stop in Cardston, Alberta to see the Remington Carriage Museum and Waterton Lakes Provincial Park. Then north through Calgary and Edmonton where we turned west to the Al-Can Highway and finally into Alaska.

We spent 2 months in Alaska and thanks to our exceptional guide, Donna, we had a really great time. (We posted many of our pictures in earlier posts for you to check out.)

In July we headed back south again, down the Cassiar Highway and back into the USA arriving in Seattle, WA to visit our children. We had planned to stay only a couple of weeks there, but ended up staying almost 2 1/2 months.

When the weather started getting colder and definitely a lot “rainer” we decided it was time to head back to Hondo, TX for the winter. Our route took us down through Oregon, California, the into Arizona to Tucson area to visit with friends in Benson.

We also visited our friends, Brigitte and Robbin, and checked out their new home in Green Valley, AZ.  Absolutely fabulous, guys!!!!

We arrived in Hondo on Sunday, October 10th and were warmly welcomed by all here in our park. We will be here until after the holidays when we will head over to Okefenokee NWR to begin our volunteer job February 1, 2011.

We had a lot of fun this past summer and saw many new sights, but it is good to be home again…………..at least for a few months!!!
