This morning we left Hondo, TX after 3 1/2 months and started our trek northward. It was not an auspicious beginning as we awoke to rain, rain and more rain!! It is not fun packing and hooking up the motor home in the rain. But in spite of the crappy weather conditions we headed out at about 10:00 AM and of course, then the weather cleared!!!!
Our first stop is in Fredericksburg, TX which is one of my favorite towns and is only about 80 miles from Hondo. We will be staying here until Thursday and visiting the Museum of the Pacific, the Wildflower Seed Farm among other sites. I will post pictures in later postings.
The RV park where we are staying is across the street from a huge open field filled with Indian Paintbrush and Bluebonnets. This is wildflower time in Texas and there are flowers everywhere, in fields, along side the roads, everywhere!
My pictures do not capture the beauty of the vast fields of flowers. Someday you will just have to come to Texas in the Spring and see them for yourself.
