Visit with Friends

        DSCF0049            DSCF0048

On  Wednesday our friends, Steve and Sandy, arrived here at Lone Star Corral in Hondo for a week long visit. We have not seen them since Bluff, UT last Spring, so it has been fun catching up on all the news in their lives.

Yesterday we drove up to Fredericksburg, TX for a day of sightseeing and playing tourist. The weather was terrible, cold and windy, and when we arrived in Fredericksburg there were snowflakes in the air!!!!

But hearty souls that we are, we just bundled up in our parkas and headed out to see the town!!!

We popped in and out of various shops to look-e-loo and to get warm. While the boys were in the knife shop we went next door to the sewing store. There I found the neatest embroidery transfers which I just had to have………and started dreaming about the fantastic quilt I was going make with them. (Which probably won’t be finished for at least 2 years!)

After wandering through a few more shops we decided that it was time for lunch and the Brewing Company listed potato soup as the special of the day. We figured that was a great way to warm the insides as well as the outsides……..so in we went!!!

The waiter arrived at our table with a long list of the great beers that are brewed there and a list of wines for the ladies…….boy, was he disappointed when all we wanted was something hot!!!!

Both Sandy and I had the potato soup and salad special and agreed it was excellent! Bill had a big Reuben sandwich and Steve had a brat with sauerkraut……..both  did very little talking and a lot of eating, so it must have been good.

We walked down to the Admiral Nimitz Museum and the War of the Pacific Museum but decided that due to the time we would only see a small portion of it, so put it off for another day.

All in all it was a good day, even with the cold, cold weather, and all decided that we will be back when it is warmer!!!

Just us kids out sightseeing……Child Drawing 3 Child Drawing 5 with our friends!

What embroidery pattern did you buy? Are you going to make us wait 2 years to see it?
