Tonight we are at Iron Horse RV and will probably be here for a couple of days, however that is about a week less than we had originally expected.
In one of my earlier posts I mentioned that we had stopped at Henderson's Line Up in Grants Pass, OR and they diagnosed our “weaving” problem as a bad steering control box, so we made an appointment with Iron Horse RV as soon as we arrived in Texas to make the necessary repairs. We were very pleasantly surprised today when Daryl Waldrop, owner of Iron Horse RV, diagnosed the problem as “improper ride height” and after 15 minutes in the shop where they “lowered” the front of the coach 1-3/4 inches, we took it out on I35 for a test drive…………WOW, what a difference! The “play” in the steering has all but disappeared! So instead of $1000-2500 in costs, it is only a hour labor charge!!!! Needless to say we are very happy and relieved!
They are now working on repairing our “boo boo” that happened in Clarkston, WA, which will involve fiberglass and painting. It should only take a couple days and we will be back on the road again with better steering and “boo boo” gone. They have full hook-ups here for us, including cable, and we can stay right in our coach except when it is in the shop.
We have spent the last week at Lone Star Corral in Hondo visiting with our friends there. Sunday is ice cream social, Tuesday is crafts day, Thursday is breakfast club, and all the rest of the week is spent visiting and catching up on all the news.
The weather has been cool at night but wonderfully warm during the day. Not as hot as Clarkston during the summer, but definitely more humid!!
Tomorrow we both are scheduled for our annual physicals….not our favorite thing to do, but necessary!!
That’s about all the news in our lives right now…….just wanted to let y’all know where we are and what we are doing.
