We are at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, in the Famcamp on base for a week of R & R before going on into Clarkston, WA. It is a time to catch up on all the laundry, wash the car, and vacuum all the dust and sand out of the coach. Also time to stock the pantry at the commissary!
Also time to finish telling you about our adventures on the way north from Benson, AZ and hopefully I can get that done tonight!!!!

MONUMENT VALLEY was the another of the stops on our trip north and as with the trip to Natural Bridges, Sandy and Steve went with us on our excursion into the valley. It was a very bumpy, dusty road, but the landscape was breath-taking!
Ran across a few local inhabitants of the area….
Hard to describe the majesty of the landscape!!!! So I will just show you some of the pictures!!
A herd of sheep in the valley and the “shepherd” guarding them. He really did not like cars getting too close to his charges.
Another critter in the valley, a chipmunk being fed sunflower seeds by one of the numerous vendors.
The only vendors allowed on the Navajo Reservation are Navajos, and they can be found at all the pull-outs and overlooks. Sandy is checking out the jewelry at one of our stops.
Yes, I did………I bought a necklace made by a young girl in Canyon de Chelly and a juniper seed necklace from another vendor at Natural Bridges.

When we left Monument Valley, we all decided that we had so much fun driving up the twisting Mokee Dugway the day before that we should do it again!!!!
So up we went and at the top proceeded to Mule Point Overlook which provides yet another fantastic view.
Just us kids…………!
From Mule Point we drove back down, yep, back down, Mokee Dugway and into the Valley of the Gods, where the road is just slightly less bumpy than the Monument Valley Road!!!!
The drive was worth it as there were so many more fabulous rock formations to see.
This one looks like a saddle…….or a bathtub!!!!
After one last pass by Mexican Hat, we headed back to Bluff and our campground for a well deserved dinner and relaxation.
