We left Green Valley, UT, on Sunday, April 12th, and headed for Burley/Heyburn, ID area.
We crossed the mountains down into Salt Lake City and finally into Idaho.
We found a great RV park in Heyburn , ID, actually it is a City Park next to the Visitor’s center. It was very inexpensive and very nice, most all the sites have concrete pads and are very roomy. It is right next to the river and there is a great path on which to stretch your legs.
While in Heyburn we set out to tour the City of Rocks, which is on the California Trail, the route the early settlers followed westward.
Wagons at the Visitor’s Center such as used to travel the California Trail.
Cattle thought we were there to feed them…….sorry, guys!!!
Hmmm…………..strange rock!!!!!
This is Registration Rock…………….travelers would write their names on the rock in axle grease for those following them on the trail.
More great formations………………….
Yep…..that’s snow. Didn’t think we wanted to go hiking in the snow……thank you!!!
Ran across some rock-climbers……….repelling down the rocks.
Great camping spot in the rocks!!!
Love this sign!!!!!!
We are now at Mountain Home AFB and after we stock up at the commissary and rest up a bit, we will head into Clarkston, WA on the 22nd of April. We will be in time for Art Under The Elms at Lewis Clark State College in Lewiston, ID (across the Snake River from Clarkston, WA).
