2009

Christmas 2008 has come and gone and the New Year 2009 has begun..........we ushered in the New Year in a very quiet way, pizza and lots of conversation with a few good friends. We watched the NY ball "drop" at midnight (that's 10:00 PM here in AZ) and then went home to bed. Such is the life of a retiree.............!!!!

We drove into Tucson today and did a little shopping at Costco and then at the commissary at Davis Monthan AFB. I think everyone within a 200 mile radius had the same idea, as there were more shoppers than before Christmas!!!! Thankfully we did not need too many things so we were able to get in and out without too much trouble!!! We did treat ourselves to a great lunch at El Paso Grill which made the whole shopping gig worth it!!

As always we have enjoyed our stay here in Benson, visiting with old friends and meeting new folks. We had some work done by a cabinet-maker from St. David, AZ, and now our new TV is firmly encased in a new cabinet in the front of the coach and we have a new storage area in the bedroom where an unused TV was removed. We took this time to sort out all our storage areas and cabinets, we were amazed at how much unused "stuff" we have been toting around with us. So out it went!!!!

Our friends, Sandy and Steve Allgire, (from Tyee, Washington) came in after Christmas and on the Monday the 5th we are all heading west to Indio, CA and the FMCA Rally there. From there we will go to Quartzsite, AZ and the giant RV show in the desert, a new experience for us and it should be fun.

Our plan after Quartzsite is to hang around Yuma for a while to visit with my sister, Sandy, and her husband, John. We haven't seen each other for a while so we have a lot of catching up to do.
We wish you all a happy, prosperous, and a peaceful New Year. Eagle
